The night we were
waiting for
Finally the day has arrived. Football lovers
all around the world will switch on their televisions or gather in their favorite
bars to follow this miraculous game. Tonight is the night when FC Barcelona clashes
Ac Milan on the renowned field of Giuseppe Meazza. Undoubtedly, we are facing a
tremendous combat which might claim its page in the history of football.
Here in Milan, the newspapers were writing
about a game between „the strongest” and „the most prestigious” teams of
Europe. This latter might sound a little bit exaggerated concerning the recent
results of Berlusconi’s team, however AC Milan has already written it’s name in
the hall of fame by winning seven CL trophies, almost twice as much as
Barcelona owns at this moment. According to the wise words of coach Allegri, AC
Milan will not be the ’sacrificial lamb’ of Barcelona. I think in these lines I
don’t have to introduce the rossoneri’s adversary and the world’s best player in
their lines and at the same time, I don’t want to infuriate my dear Real Madrid
Fan readers.
Even though we could not manage to purchase
some cheap tickets for the game (all of them were sold by the first day of free
acquisition), we will take out our part from the night. Thanks to Michele, the
boss of our association, we are going to participate in a local live radio show
starting from 20:30 tonight. Of course we won’t act like real commentators, but
we will have a funny conversation concerning football, politics, women and
other stuff while watching the dribbles of Messi. It will also be the start of
a long-lasting project during which we are trying to draw people’s attention to
the other (non-commercial) side of football and the poverty of the South. As
tonight’s match will attract huge attention, the organizers thought it would be
the perfect occasion to get started. Agreed. Let’s do this Milan!
Meanwhile, in the past weeks some great things
happened to us. Our project, with partners from Italy, Hungary (the Polgár
Foundation—with my cooperation) and Turkey, was approved by the responsible
body of the European Commission! The „Rules for sport talents” project, within
the framework of Youth in Action initiative, will take place in the above
mentioned countries. I would say it’s the beginning of a nice European
cooperation in the field of youth policy, however the best thing about it is
that I already contributed to it.
Beside all these miracles, we are facing a very
intensive period of our EVS: in one week
time we will depart for a 10-day long international workshop in La spezia,
where I will try to represent the Hungarian Polgár Foundation. Immediately
after our arrival to Milan, we will grab our backpacks and take a train heading
to the South. The destination is Napoli where we are going to join some other international
volunteers for a 7-day long training.
Definitely, I will have a lot to tell about…Take
Care guys!
